Dr. Eric Miedema

Dr. Eric Miedema graduated from Dordt College where he played baseball and graduated Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He sees patients of all ages and fits specialty contact lenses including lenses for astigmatism and eye diseases like Keatoconus. He also fits contacts on athletes as young as 8 years old. Dr. Miedema works closely with local schools and school nurses to provide evaluations for their students and training for their staffs. He enjoys coaching youth and high school sports and has served on his church board, school boards, youth sports boards and as President of a local Parent-Teacher organization.

Dr. Spencer Whatcott

Dr. Spencer Whatcott grew up in Modesto.   He went to high school at Thomas Downey High. He did his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University where he was Phi Kappa Phi.   He was Phi Beta Kappa at U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry, served as class president, graduated first in his class and later served as an Associate Clinical Professor for seven years.

He is an accomplished musician, amateur astronomer and ham radio operator.  He enjoys racquetball and motorcycling (Honda, not Harley).  He is also a volunteer tour guide for San Francisco City Guides.

But his favorite activity is raising his son, Nathan.

Dr. Ken Thomas

Dr. Ken Thomas comes to us from Stockton and offers his language skills to our Spanish-speaking patients. He has a special interest in helping developmentally disabled individuals. Dr. Thomas also performs outreach optometric services at the State Hospital.

Dr. James Bragno

Dr. Bragno grew up in Modesto and attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton. After attending and graduating from the Southern California College of Optometry, he spent a year as an Associate Clinical Professor in the contact lens department. Dr. Bragno has been successfully managing refractive surgeries since 1998, and has extensive training and experience along with credentials in all aspects of refractive surgery, thus assuring you the highest level of care. Your pre-operative analysis, surgery and post surgical care are meticulously looked after to provide you with years of great vision.
